David Lee Granberry, 70, passed away leaving behind a lifetime of stories, ingenuity, and unmistakable character.
Born on February 28, 1955, in El Paso, Texas, David was the son of Earnest Lee Granberry and Betty Jean Grandberry. From an early age, he showed a natural talent for working with his hands-a gift that would shape both his career and his legacy.
A mechanic by trade, David was known not just for fixing engines, but for building the unexpected. He had a knack for creating odd, imaginative vehicles-often powered by what others might politely call horrid motors-and somehow making them run anyway. His workshop was a place of trial, error, laughter, and creativity, and those who knew him best knew that David didn't just see machines for what they were, but for what they could become.
David is survived by his daughters, Natasha Granberry and Virginia Granberry, and his stepdaughter, Tabitha Whisenant.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Lee Granberry and Betty Jean Granberry, his beloved wife, Marry Elizabeth Lauderdale, and his brother, James Edward Granberry.
More than anything, David will be remembered for his originality, his problem-solving mind, and his ability to see value in things others had written off. He lived life his own way-unpolished, hands-on, and full of grit.
Services will be arranged at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your local animal shelter in memory of David-an act of kindness fitting for a man who appreciated loyal companions and second chances.
