Lucio A. Herrera 90 passed away Wednesday December 4, 2019 in San Antonio, Tx. He was born March 4, 1929 in El Indio, Tx. to Francisco Herrera and Lucina Alvarez Herrera. He married Regina Urias November 29, 1952 in Ojinaga Chihuahua, Mexico. Mr. Herrera was a Christian catholic and a self-employed painter.
Lucio loved listening to tejano and mariachi music, and he also enjoyed watching boxing matches, he also was a fan of the famous Dallas Cowboys. In his latter part of his life he enjoyed sitting outside the patio and watch the traffic pass by.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Regina U. Herrera, sisters Maria Venegas and Natividad “Nati” Madrid, brothers Francisco and Guadalupe Herrera.
Surviving are his daughters Belia H. Florez and husband Rafael of Pecos, Tx, Eva Dominguez and husband Rick of San Antonio, TX, and Yolanda Calzada and husband Rueben of Austin, Tx. sons Ruben Herrera and wife Carey of Katy, Tx, and Adam Herrera and wife Patty of Odessa, Tx, sister Socorro Vazquez of Pecos, Tx, brothers Cayetano Herrera of Midland, Tx and Antonio ”Tony” Herrera and wife Teresa “Tita Herrera of Pecos, Tx.
Lucio also leaves to cherish his memories 11-grandchildren, 10-great grandchildren and 4-great-great grandchildren.
Visitation is set for Saturday December 7, 2019 from 1pm-9pm and Sunday December 8, 2019 from 1pm-9pm with the rosary at 7:30 pm at Pecos Funeral Home Chapel.
Mass is set for 10am Monday December 9, 2019 at Santa Rosa Catholic Church with Deacon Jesse Guajardo officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenwood cemetery.
