Robert "Neal" Thomas

Robert O’Neal Thomas, 78, of Pecos, Texas, passed away on January 19, 2021 in El Paso.

Neal was born in Daingerfield to James Aubrey Thomas and Annie Blanche Clark Thomas on Sept 19, 1942. He worked at the Sulphur Mines for close to 30 years. He was a veteran of the Viet Nam Era and served in the Army as a Helicopter Mechanic in Germany.

Neal is preceded in death by his parents, his brother James J. Thomas and sister Kathryn Thomas.

Neal is survived by his wife Debra Osborn Thomas, daughter Brandie Thomas, grandson Jason Minor & wife Ashley, 3 beautiful great granddaughters, Cheyenne, Paisley & Maggie (of Eldon, Missouri), his sisters Barbara Smith (Jimmy) and Wanda Jernigan (Ed) (of Houston), several nieces & nephews, also his stepdaughter Tami Strain Shifflett (Randy) (of Abilene), her three sons & their children.

Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Friday January 22 at Peaceful Garden Funeral Home (116 W 4th Pecos)

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 23rd at Mount Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements are by Pecos Funeral Home.

Our good friend Kenneth Russell will be helping us celebrate Neal. Pallbearers will be Neal’s nephews & great nephews.
