Socorro "Corrin" Lopez

Socorro ‘Corrin’ Lopez 76 of Pecos passed away Saturday July 4, 2020 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. She was born July 23, 1943 in Mexico to Julian and Amelia Guzman. She was a homemaker and a Christian Catholic. Mom loved to wear shimmering colors on her cloths, she was known to be a very humorous person at times a little too much with the jokes and very blunt. She loved to watch her Spanish telenovelas, loved being taken out to eat especially on special occasions. She was known to be very active in craft activities at the nursing home. But most of all she loved visiting with her mom, children and grandchildren. She loved her family very much. Mom you will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her father Julian Guzman, husband Socorro Lopez, sister Marina Venegas, and brothers Ruben and Juan De Dios Guzman.

She is survived by her mother Amelia Guzman of Pecos, Daughter Carmen Salgado of Pecos, sons Jorge Lopez and wife Patricia of Odessa, Francisco ‘Kiko’ Lopez and wife Mary Ann of Midland, and Mario Lopez and wife Debbie of Grand Prairie. Brothers Cruz Guzman of Odessa, Lorenzo Guzman of San Antonio, and Jesus, Julian and Armando all of Pecos.

‘Corrin’ leaves to cherish her memory 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

DUE to COVID-19 Visitation is set for only 75 persons with social distancing guidelines Wednesday July 8, 2020 from 9am-4pm with a rosary at 2pm at Peaceful Garden Funeral Home Chapel. Masks are required.

Mass is set for 10am Thursday July 9, 2020 at Santa Rosa Catholic Church with Father Jose De La Cruz officiating.  Same COVID-19 guidelines apply at the church.

Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Javier Lopez, Javi Lopez, Jaime Morales, Fabian Venegas, Ruben Salgado, and Ross Salgado
