Windell Terry

November 25, 1956 — January 18, 2025

Windell was born on November 25th, 1956 to the late Willie Lee McCowan and Catherine Joyce McCowan in Kermit, Texas. He received his early years of education in the Kermit School District and moved to Pecos where he graduated from Pecos High School. He married Linda Sue Jenkins in 1981, and to this union, there were two children. He was a devoted husband and father in this union.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers (Dwayne Terry and Bruce Terry).

He leaves to cherish his memories: a devoted wife, Cecilia Hayes of Kermit, Texas; a daughter, Sophia (Dexter) McCray of Belton, Texas; and a son, Quentin (Misty) Terry of Mansfield, Texas; a brother, Gregory McCowan of Fort Worth, Texas; four grandchildren: Dasia McCray of Mansfield, Texas, Jay McCray of Belton, Texas, and Brooklyn and Reagan Terry of Mansfield, Texas; four step-grandchildren: Julien Hayes of Commerce, Texas, Ramon Urquidi, JaMarcus Hayes, and Malaiya Urquidi of Odessa, Texas; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Julien Hayes, Ramon Uruidi, JaMarcus Hayes, Deavin Shorter, JoJo Wilson, and Honorary Pallbearers wil be Larry Johnson, and Lee Ralph Davis

Chapel service will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2025 at 12:00 pm at Peaceful Garden Funeral Home on 116 W. 4th. St. in Pecos, Texas, Interment will follow at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery in Pecos, Texas.
