Ernesto “Neto” Hernandez Chavez 70 years of Pecos, Tx. passed away on Friday, January 3, 2020 in Pecos, Tx. Ernesto was born March 20, 1949 in Pecos, Tx. to Antonio and Lillian Hernandez Chavez. He went to school in Pecos, married Griselda “Chela” Contreras Chavez on January 8, 1968 in Wheeler, Tx.

Visitation will be Tuesday January 7, 2020 from 1pm to 9pm, Wednesday January 8, 2020 from 9am to 9pm with rosary at 7:30pm at Peaceful Garden Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Service will be at 10 am on Thursday January 9, 2020  at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church with interment following at Greenwood Cemetery.

Ernesto worked as a telephone technician and retired from Balor for 24 years. He was involved in Little and Pony League baseball, he was always helping doing fundraisers, catering, dancing to a variety of music, he was a Scout Master of the Optimist Club, and a  member of the Lions Club, he was dedicated with the kindness of his heart to his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ernesto H. Chavez is preceded in death by parents Antonio and Lillian H. Chavez, grandmother Isabel Ramos Chavez, sisters Josie Antillon, Susan Perkins.

Ernesto H. Chavez is survived by his wife Griselda “Chela” Chavez, his children Roddy Chavez and wife Delma, daughters Lillian Botello and husband Johnny, Salina Rodriguez and husband Oscar, brothers Joe Chavez of Midland, Tx., Benito Chavez of Odessa, Tx., Chuy Chavez of California, sisters Malicha Sais of Andrews, Tx., Isabel Rodriguez, Teresa Chavez, Beida Machuca all of Odessa, Tx., Rosa Walden of Hobbs, New Mexico., six Grandchildren Adrian Macias, Maegan Lopez, Brittany Chavez, Brandi Chavez, Jared E. Rodriguez, Roddy Jr. Chavez, eight Great-grandchildren: Kamry Rodriguez, Zailey Rodriguez, Jared O. Rodriguez, Jacob Rodriguez, Brayden Lopez, Brylee Lopez, Jase Lopez, Roman Macias.

Pallbearers; Jared E. Rodriguez, Eddie Rodriguez, Roddy Jr. Chavez, Adrian Macias, John Lopez and Nathan Contreras.
