Jose Martinez Sr

Jose Aguilar Martinez Sr. age 79, of Pecos, Texas died December 1, 2022, in Odessa, Texas.

Jose was a well know auto mechanic and instructor, APG for 31 years and worked at RCDC I & II for 21 years, retiring at the age of 72.  He was a hard-core Dallas Cowboy fan.

Jose is survived by his wife Maria Carrasco Martinez, children:  Manuel (Amalia) Martinez, Melisa (Roger) Avila, Norma (Ruben) Fonseca, Humberto (Genice) Garay, Abraham (Crystal) Garay, Jose Jr. (Michelle) Martinez, 18 grandkids and 25 great-grandkids.  He is also survived by siblings:  Jesus (Lala) Martinez, Lita (Pablo) Carrasco, Margie (Santos) Estorga, and Sulema Leyva, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Jose is preceded in death by his father Manuel Martinez, mother Francisca Aguilar, sisters:  Marcia Garcia, Faye Martinez, Senaida Garcia, Epifania Mora, sons:  Joel Martinez, Jose Martinez, John Anthony Martinez, Steven Perez, daughter Marbella Martinez, and daughter in law Maribel Martinez.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, from 10:30 am – 9:00 pm and Wednesday, December 7, 2022, from 9:00 am – 9:00 pm with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm at Peaceful Gardens Funeral Home.

Funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at 10:00 am at Santa Rosa Catholic Church in Pecos.

Burial will follow at Mount Evergreen Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Emmanuel I. Martinez, Joey Martinez, Joe Luis Jimenez, Homberto Garay Jr., Abraham Garay, Angel Perez, Roger Avila Jr., and Carlos Montaño.
