Obituary

Mario Rayos Sr, 75, of Pecos, Texas passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2021. Mario was born in Pecos to Pabla and Valentin Rayos on January 19, 1946. He grew up in Pecos, Texas and attended Pecos High School. He married Felicia Rayos on October 22, 1962 in Pecos, Texas. Mario was a member of the Santa Rosa Catholic Church in Pecos. His greatest joy was his family. He loved spending every possible moment with his brothers, sisters and grandchildren. He always loved his oldies and blues music. There wasn’t a day he would sit out on the front porch listening to his oldies and enjoy whoever came to visit him. In so many respects, he was a humble man. He achieved a legacy of faith and family. He put his relationship with his family before anything in the world.

“Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free. I’m following the path God has chosen for me. I took His hand
when I heard Him call. I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, to
work or play. Task left undone must stay that way. I’ve now found peace at the end of day. If my parting
has left a void, then fill it with remembered joys. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, oh yes, these things,
I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow. Look for the sunshine of tomorrow. My life’s been
full, I savored much good friends, good times, a loved ones touch. Perhaps my time seems all to brief.
Don’t lengthen your pain with undue grief. Lift up your heart and peace to thee, God wanted me now- He
set me free.”
