Roberto Sanchez 63, of Pecos, passed away in Odessa, Tx on Friday, January 31, 2020.

Robert was born on June 25, 1956 in Alpine, Tx., to Julian and Viola Sanchez. The family lived in Kermit, Tx and Roberto graduated from Kermit High School in 1975. After graduating Roberto joined the U.S. Army and served from 1976 to 1979. During his time in the service he was able to see the world and stationed in Germany while serving as part of the Military Policy.

After returning from the service Roberto worked in construction and devoted most of his time to his family and to the Catholic Church. Roberto served with St. Joseph and St. Thomas Catholic Churches volunteering as a Catechism teacher and assisting with Baptism Classes. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Counsel #10509. Roberto also served with the disabled American Veterans and the Kermit Special Olympics. Roberto was a loving and kind person and devout family man.

Pallbearers will be, Larry Rodriguez, Adam Rodriguez, Ernist Pargas, Jamie Gallardo Jr., Eric Gallardo, Fox Sikazwe; Honorable Pallbearers are Jesse Sanchez, Manny Navarrette, Archie Roman, Frank Moya, Arturo Cuellar, Joe Mendoza, Nick Ruiz Jr., Ervy Pineida.

He was always giving and helping anyone that needed help. Roberto is preceded in death by his parents Julian Sr. and Viola Sanchez and brother Benny Sanchez.

He is survived by his wife Faye Sanchez and son Robert P. Sanchez of Pecos. His brothers Julian O. Sanchez Jr. and wife Delma of Kermit, George M. Sanchez of Kermit, and Jesse Sanchez and Oralia of Odessa; sisters Linda Orona of Kermit, Yolanda Sanchez of Jal, NM and Ruby Gallardo and husband Jaime Sr. of Kermit, Texas.
